Today is Tuesday, St Patrick's Day, 2009. We closed on the construction loan a week or so ago, but didn't get all of the plan details worked out until a few days ago. No worries though, because any of the changes were small and didn't involve the engineering or beam sizing, etc. Gary Bieske with Sun Peak Engineering has been working on the foundation engineering, reviewing my header sizes, sizing the enormous wood beam in the living room, and the big steel beam in the garage, and stuff like that. (warm fuzzy: he likes the new computer program - "nice plans" he said :D )
I took some pictures the other day (actually I've taken them for months, but I won't load them all) and I will start the post with them. The picture in the corner, that should be the blog author, will be the most current photo of the project. The picture above this is what I took on the way out of the driveway.
George talked to Paul at IREA this morning and has an appointment with him on Friday morning to determine how many power poles will be required. I've got my fingers crossed. You know, you try really hard to 'guess' how many power poles, and how many feet deep the well will be, and things like that, but it's still a crap shoot. The picture above you here is the big pile of decomposed granite George happened to be using on that day. Since then, he's had at least 10 times that much delivered to use as the base for the driveway. The trucks were non-stop for days..... as fast as they could move the dirt. Amazing.....
This is a picture of George getting back in his tractor to work on the driveway some more after I left. More to come tomorrow, have a great day!
