It's Saturday, and the floor is getting poured this morning. The crews will be there at 7:30 in the morning, concrete at 8, and they won't be done until afternoon. It's a long day for them.
This first picture is the rebar drilled into the basement walls where George's finger was in the other post, and then forms to hold in the concrete.
and here is the same wall all poured in.

The deck piers are poured and ready for the deck to be built (it's not time for it yet, but the piers are ready)

Here's one of the concrete trucks that were used for the floor pour.

This is Tony's crew pumping the concrete into the basement, on top of the radiant piping. Here they are already into the garage area. Its hard to get pictures without getting in their way.

This is taken through the window, but the lighting is a little dark.

Here are some of the crew finishing the floor. It's a painstaking process to get it perfect, and that's what they want from the finished product - perfect.

Here is the floor when it's nearly done. They will be out on it a few more times, as it cures a little more, to make it perfectly smooth. According to George, there was a small child - allegedly a neighbor - hanging around about this time of the pour. He went back out several hours later with keep out signs to post. It amazes me how people who won't think about walking in your house won't even hesitate to walk through your under-construction house. Hope there's no cute hand-prints on the floor, or George will have his folks pay to fix it! I hate to be a big meanie, but that just makes me nuts.

Here's a nice picture of the elk that were grazing in the field on the way home. Sorry its a bad picture, I should have stopped and gotten out of the car.
..and here's why I wasn't there for the finishing of the concrete. They won! 8 to 7.
Nice detail on the concrete pour for the laundry and lower bath windows, the front deck piers, and the lower level floor. The finished floor looks fantastic in the photos, from the apparent smoothness to the expansion joint placement. Looking forward to see it in person. Hopefully, the radiant system held out OK through the whole pour/finish/cure process.
