New well is in!

It's Monday morning, and the well rig is here, bright and early! Here's my original plan for the well drilling. I expected that they would hit water at approximately 350 feet and would drill about 20 to 30 additional feet to keep the pump off the bottom of the well. My well guess-timate was 400'. The driller hit water at 50 feet more or less, but it wasn't much water, AND we're not legally allowed to use anything shallow-er than 100', so they kept on drilling. George told them to go to 250 feet and call. They did.. no water. He told them go to 300' and call. They did... no water. He told them go to 400' and call. They did... no water. (do we see a pattern here?) Anyway.... he told them to go to 500' and call again. The day ended at the 300' mark so now we're into Tuesday the 19th. They called at 460' and had 3 gallons a minute, which is plenty. He had them go down a bit more for space under the pump and stop there. If you want to know the reasoning for any of this, let me know. I hate to explain stuff if you already know it. In case you want to do the math, the average person uses 50 +/- gallons per day, in your case thats 250 gallons +/-. If your well produces 3 gallons per minute, it can supply all of your water needs in a little less than an hour and a half per day. If you add laundry and watering your plants, you may need 2 hours of production. Needless to say you have ample supply. The reason for the deeper well would be to keep a days supply on hand at all times. The pipe holds a little over a gallon per foot, so you have (depending on the static level) about 400+ gallons at all times. Just in case you wanted to know.....

Here's the pictures, and there are only a few. Videos were boring, so I didn't take any. They're just noise, the drilling isn't real 'active' in my opinion.

Another picture of the drill truck.

It made the driller guys nervous when I was taking pictures, so nobody would look at me...
Look! All the trees have leaves now! It's so pretty....

and here's one inside picture. I could only do this, because I couldn't walk on the new concrete, and the guys were busy upstairs.

and that's all for this day!
