Here is a picture of the driveway leading into the garage. I took it to show the trees in your back yard. There are quite a few, but it looks pretty cool, I think. You can clear it out, or clear a lot out, but here's what it looks like now.

Radiant slab floor is nearly ready!
Today will revolve around the radiant heat in the basement floor. The pictures are great for showing just what's under your floor. There is a little framing, and a little walking around the property, too. I also added a picture of the window adjustment in the bathroom and laundry room.

Another picture of the same, from a bit further back.
Here's George showing with his right hand the level of the backfill when the dirt work is done, and with his left hand the bottom of the window. He is having Tony re-pour the window so the concrete will be complete.
This is the manifold for the radiant floor heating. I won't even begin to explain it, but this is what it looks like under the concrete. Note also the insulation under the pipes, and the steel mesh that the pipes are attached to.
This is the whole floor, all piped and ready to pour. Notice the orange painted lines on the other side of the room. Those are Richard's marks so he knows where he can and cannot nail the walls down into the concrete.
Here is a nice picture of Pikes Peak that I took on the way home. bbrrrrrr...... (Note: it's beautiful here, but it doesn't rain on top the peak much, it mostly snows. There are only a few days or weeks that there is no snow on top)

The photo of George indicating the level of backfill and the bottom window location was very helpful. Also, love those nature shots and the different house views. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThe radiant install looks very tidy. Having done that myself before several times I'm familiar with the setup. George question- how thick is the foil backed roll-out insulation?
